Google product reviews algorithm update. How to implement reviews now?

Semrush showed me their latest data on this update, that there was a shake in the SERP, it was not as big as the core update like previously in December 2020. The company said that "the highest volatility was recorded by the Semrush Sensor on April 09, 2021 for the US database." In terms of categories, such as finance, law and government, work and education, cars and vehicles, and healthcare for desktop computers have lost all in the results.


According to Semrush, 30% more URLs changed their positions on the update dates compared to the days before the update.

What was previously.


Google announced a new Search algorithm update it is calling the product reviews update.


This update is "designed to better reward" product reviews that "contain detailed research rather than subtle content that simply summarises multiple products."


Why it's so important


If your website has an overview of products, you will want to check your rating or improve it to see if you have been harmed since the update. Has your organic Google traffic improved, decreased, or remained the same?


If you've noticed a drop in product rankings that has impacted your search engine traffic, you may want to rethink your content strategy and improve the quality of your products on your site action requirements page.


In the long term strategy, you want to be sure that in the future you will invest a lot more detail and effort into product review content of all types of content to make it unique and stand out from the competition in quality and descriptions.

  • Showcase what the product looks like physically or how it is used, with unique content that goes beyond what the manufacturer provides?

  • Provide quantitative measurements of how well a product fits across different performance categories?

  • Explain what makes the product different from the competition?

  • Cover comparable products for review, or explain which products might be best for a specific purpose or circumstance?

  • Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of a particular product based on its research?

  • Describe how the product has evolved from previous models or releases to provide improvements, fix problems, or otherwise help users make purchasing decisions?

  • Identify the key decision factors for the product category and how does the product perform in these areas? For example, a vehicle inspection can determine that fuel economy, safety, and handling are key decision-making factors and evaluate performance in these areas.

  • Describe the main product development options and their impact on users beyond what the manufacturer says?
